Relationships, not Qualifications, Key to Better Learning Outcomes - ABIS

24th September, 2024, 1:40 AM

Again, the management of Attaofeequ Billahi International School (ABIS) welcomes its students and staff for a new academic session. The air was electric with anticipation, - we're also thrilled to welcome new students who have registered to be with us on a fresh learning journey. Our academic community is primed for a remarkable experience that encourages growth, discovery, and connection.

There is a glaring oversight that comes into focus when we reflect on the education structure and style of our dear country. Our continous quest for certifications and exam results often overshadows the essence of true understanding. We forget that students are more than just test scores. This narrow focus neglects the fine points of individual perspectives, creativity, and emotional intelligence. We recognise this gap at ABIS, and strive to bridge it.

Since inception, ABIS has committed to understanding our students' diverse needs, values, and qualities. We approach learning as a wellbeing-focused education that goes beyond mere academics. Definitely, our students are drilled and tutored to excel in exams, but also taught to cultivate meaningful relationships, empathy, and teamwork. Our vision is that, by doing this, we build whole persons, equipped to thrive in a world that regularly appears in different colours.

We are conscious of the fact that our students come from varied backgrounds, experiences, and family dynamics. There is richness in this, and we see it as such, as strength, not a weakness. We embrace these differences, teach our students to learn to harness their various beautiful perspectives, and build a supportive community for themselves. Our staff will continue to be worthy mentors and guide in this our aspiration.

We firmly believe that surrounding ourselves with quality individuals and building relationships across divides is important to overcoming life's various challenges. It is the resolve of the management team to provide an environment where our students develop enduring connections and leverage on diversity to achieve collective success.

At ABIS, we confidently assert that our relationship-centric approach will yield exceptional learning outcomes, and it will meet and exceed parents' expectations. This is a commitment that sets us apart, and continues to drive our dedication to this path. This is a new academic session, it's underway, - we reaffirm our pledge to nurture compassionate and fully developed characters positioned to excel in all aspects of life.
